FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO THE HOMELESS AND REFUGEES IN PARIS

Serve the City Paris organizes food distribution for the homeless and the refugees throughout Paris every week of the year. Today, our Association delivers food to over 400 homeless and refugees each week, and we also provide food for integration events, sports activities, and other philanthropic missions throughout Paris.

Today, we have over 500 active volunteers in the city of Paris who sign up to help with our food distribution program. Most of these volunteers are English speaking ex-patriots, immigrants, and French citizens who speak English.   (For most of the refugees in Paris, English is their first language).

Every week you will find a group of Serve the City Paris volunteers meeting in the morning at La Caféothèque in the 75004 of Paris, before heading out across Paris to deliver food to refugees and the less fortunate.    The whole activity takes 2-3 hours maximum.

Volunteers go out in small groups to various areas around Paris (rue St. Honoré, Chatelet, Gare St Lazare, Opera, Porte de la Chapelle, Gare de Lyon, Austerlitz, Republique, St. Germain, Bastille, Nation or République). Or, you can just take the food to the neighborhood where you live and hand out sandwiches there.

If you are interested in participating for one time as a volunteer with Serve the City Paris, first please fill out a volunteer registration form found on our website HERE

Once you fill out a registration form, then you will be prompted to pay the 20 Euro donation to participate in STCP volunteer activities.   Once the 20 Euro donation is paid, a link to sign up to a volunteer activity will be provided.

We also ask all our new volunteers to take a volunteer training workshop before volunteering.   Dates for the new volunteer workshop (offered 2x per month),  along with the volunteer activity signup sheet, once the volunteer registration form is completed.

Also, consider joining our S.A.V.E. (Service, Action, Volunteer & Engage) Program, to learn in advance how to work directly with our refugee community. The SAVE Program offers online and in person training, and a combination of theory and practice workshops at least 3x a month to ensure more impactful and meaningful volunteer experiences for our volunteers and our refugee community.

If you are interested in joining the SAVE, there are many benefits. First, our interactive workshops are offered at least 3 times per month and cover a wide variety of topics relating to social impact and how to become a better volunteer.     SAVE participants may also  participate in a larger selection of volunteer activities and events that most of the time, go beyond our standard volunteer activities.     SAVE members also receive a certificate of benevolence for school, work or job search requirements. SAVE members also collaborate with fellow SAVE members to social impact projects.

There is no charge to join the SAVE program if you have already signed up as a STCP volunteer (HERE) and you have donated the monthly €10 euro donation fee to volunteer with Serve The City Paris.

A S.A.V.E. application can be filled out HERE.    To learn more about the S.A.V.E. Program, click HERE.

We look forward to having you on the team, serving the city and those who are marginalized in Paris.
