LES MISERABLES FLASH MOB

Serve The City created a ‘flash mob’ to protest what is happening in Paris with the government moving the homeless outside the Périphérique during the Olympic games. A group of STCP volunteers put on the Les Misérables costumes and sang the song “Can you hear the people sign” from the play “Les Misérables”, which represents a time in France where there was a disparity between the king/government and poor/homeless citizens.

Of course, there are similarities to what France is experiencing today with anti-immigration and the way the homeless are being treated during the Olympics. Singing in the streets and a video was also created for social media purposes to raise awareness in Paris so the tourists here for the Olympics get the whole story.. “A protest through music”!
