Volunteer Spotlight: Lorenzo

Our volunteers are a diverse bunch. They come to us from the four corners of the globe, are of different ethnicities, ages, genders, religions, but the one thing they all share is a desire to help. They are the beating heart of Serve the City. They are dedicated individuals, role models to young people and future leaders. But who are they really?

In our volunteer spotlight we introduce you to one of our volunteers and find out some unusual and interesting facts about them. Let me introduce you to Lorenzo.

Where were you born?
I was born in Perugia, Italy.What language(s) do you speak?
I speak Italian and French well, and I speak little English.What does STCP mean to you?
STCP represents a small entity for social change in a big city, I think that people even in small numbers can make positive changes.

When you’re not volunteering, how do you spend your time?
Generally, in my spare time I practice a lot of sport, mainly basketball and climbing, but I also love activities such as chess, reading books, and listening to music.

What is your favorite hobby?
My favorite hobby at the moment is rock climbing.

What is your favorite meal?
My favorite dishes are Florentine steak and tagliatelle with black truffles.

With which person living or deceased would you like to eat that meal?
I would love to eat it in the company of family and friends.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of happiness is based on having free time and being able to share something with other people.

Which living person do you most admire?
The living person I admire most right now is Timothy Cho, for his courage and commitment to civil rights.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I would have liked to have been a great musician.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement to date has been to complete university.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
If I were to be reborn I would like to be a lighthouse.
