Serve the City Paris Online Workshop Series Presents…
How can humanitarian law help in a time of immigrant crisis?
Tuesday, July 20th at 6:30pm CET
Join Mary McColley, our SAVE member and a dedicated writer for STCP. Her online Zoom session will share her knowledge about international humanitarian law and a few of the many complexities faced in situations of refugee population flows.
Refugees flee war, conflict, and societal upheaval, escaping from situations where it can seem like all law and order has disappeared. But it is in these situations that international humanitarian law comes into play. What is this law? How has it developed over time? What protections and structures are in place for refugees, and who is in charge of the response? Why does obtaining refugee status matter, and how can we help our refugee community?
