Where were you born?
Tampa, Florida – USA
What language(s) do you speak?
English; basic Spanish; toddler French
What does STCP mean to you?
STCP means inclusion. It is an organization open to anyone, from any culture or background, as long as they come with an open heart and a passion to help others in need.
When you’re not volunteering, how do you spend your time?
I work in sustainability, so frequent newsletters, podcasts, books, city initiatives which put people and the planet central. I also co-direct a children’s home in Nepal which brings me a lot of joy (Visit Nepal! – https://www.risinglotuschildrensvillage.org/). I enjoy museum hopping (when in Paris right!?), planning visits with friends around Europe, playing / watching football (soccer*) and biking the city as much as I can. Ahh, and live music!
What is your favorite hobby?
Socializing if that counts! Otherwise, coaching soccer.
What is your favorite meal?
Highly specific here but a Lebanese vegan sandwich called the Ali’s Incredible (Falafel | Hummus | Eggplant | Cauliflower | Mix salad | Pomegranate sauce)
With which person living or deceased would you like to eat that meal?
Ernest Hemingway
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Gatherings of people who I’ve befriended and who I admire, simply connecting with each other. Nothing makes me happier than making (and fostering) connections, seeing others enjoy themselves.
Which living person do you most admire?
Noam Chomsky
Which talent would you most like to have?
Unwavering Discipline
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Creating a community in Orlando, FL through the youth soccer community. Although I no longer have any “blood” family in Florida, it will always be home for me, because of the commitment of families who were and are dedicated to developing value-driven, giving, young men and women.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
A whale.
